The type of dogs used in police work we bred for taking people down the trainers just have.
The dogs already know what to make sure they dont go for taking people down the wrong peopel or go after.

In the same way you train a dog to fetch. It is trying to fetch the person though, who is going to put up a fight. The dogs just know how to listen

My message was an answer to austin132, and sure I knew it was sort of superficial (of course not every dog can be trained and training involves a lot of work and a passion which is not everybody’s) but I still don’t find very nice to see a thumb down with no explanations…especially since my intention was to tell someone who is probably a dog enthusiast about a dog sport he seem not to be aware of

The cop who owns the dog care for his furry friend.
For their owner safety so does the dog care for their owner safety so does the dog care for his furry friend.

Yes, they are absolutely beatifull and fun dogs to work with.

  17. tapsarautanen on January 12th, 2010 9:59 am

Not sure what kind of training you are looking for your dog but sure you can, many dog-sports are designed to develop abilities similar to that used by k9. Try to search for example for schutzhund in the internet.
